Thereafter, she commenced her pupillage under the tutelage of our Ms. Chithra Jeganathan and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in February 2021. Mr. Liaw Zhen Tyian

Ms. Neoh Siew Wen (Leona)
AssociateLeona graduated with a Second Class Upper LL.B (Hons) degree from the University of Reading, United Kingdom in 2015. She also holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, specialising in international commercial law including financial and monetary, competition and consumer protection law. She obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in 2017 and was called to the Malaysian Bar in March 2019. Prior to joining us, Leona completed her pupillage in the chambers of Messrs. Zul Rafique & Partners where she assisted with construction law, alternative dispute resolution matters and also other capacities including audit, compliance and legal. She joined this firm as an Associate in April 2022 and is currently practising in the area of conveyancing, corporate, banking and commercial.

Jovine Ling graduated with First-Class Honours from Multimedia University (MMU) in November 2022. She was also awarded the Tun Azmi Foundation Award 2022 by the Faculty of Law. She completed her pupillage at Messrs Sidek Teoh Wong & Dennis, and in October 2023, she was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. She joined Messrs Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong as an Associate in December 2023 and is currently practicing in the area of Insurance Litigation.
Mr. Alvin Yap Yuen Sheng

Alvin Yap graduated from University of Hull with LL.B (Honours) in 2015. Upon completing his Certificate in Legal Practice, he commenced his pupilage at Messers. Khoo & Sidhu under the guidance of Mr Andrew Khoo Kok Tsan. He was retained as a Legal Assistant in the same firm upon being called to the Malaysian Bar in 2018. Ms. Wong Hui Yi (Stephanie)

Stephanie commenced her pupillage with us under the tutelage of our Mr. Steven Wong Wai Leong and was subsequently admitted and enrolled as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 30th August 2024. She has since been retained as an Associate and is currently practicing in the area of Insurance, Takaful, Reinsurance and Re-Takaful Litigation.
Mr. Yap Sun Yau

Sun Yau graduated from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom with a Second Class Upper LL.B (Hons) degree in 2018. In 2019, he completed his Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) and obtained Master of Laws (LL.M) and subsequently called to the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn as a Barrister-at-Law. Sun Yau completed his pupillage in Messrs. Alvin John & Partners under the mentorship of Dato' Alvin John. On 16 April 2021, he was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. Ms. Audrey Eva Fernandez

Audrey Eva graduated with a second class upper from University of London (external) programme in 2007. She obtained a second class lower in the CLP examination the following year. She commenced her pupillage in Messrs Shearn Delamore & Co under the guidance of Ms Anita Balakrishnan. On 8th August, 2009 she was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in the High Court of Malaya. She joined Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong as an Associate in August 2009. Her current area of practice is Insurance and Takaful Litigation.


Mr. Alvin Kua Tze Min

Alvin obtained the LL.B(Hons) from Northumbria University in 2015. He was admitted as a Barrister of Lincolns Inn in 2017. He was also awarded a Certificate of Achievement on Contract Law from Harvard University. He then completed his pupillage at Messrs Jeff Leong, Poon & Wong and on August 2018, he was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He joined this firm as an Associate in February 2019 and is currently practising in the area of Insurance, Takaful and Re-Takaful Litigation.


Mr. Mahen s/o Rasanayagam

Mahen s/o Rasanayagam graduated from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, with a second class upper LL.B (Honours) degree in the year 2015 and obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) the following year. Thereafter, he commenced his pupillage and read in the Chambers of our Ms. Jasvindar Kaur. On 05th January 2018, he was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He has since been retained as an Associate and practices in the Insurance Litigation Department.


Puan. Maidzuara Binti Mohammed

Maidzuara is an utter Barrister of The Gray's Inn. In 1990 she was called to the Malaysian Bar. She was in practice as an Advocate & Solicitor for almost 30 years and was involved in various areas of the law with emphasis on medico-legal matters for the last 10 years of her practice.In 2020, Maidzuara left practice at the bar to contribute to the judiciary. In February 2023, Maidzuara joined our firm as a Consultant. She works with our Partner Mr Tharumarajah in our medico-legal department.


Y.M. Tunku Farik Bin Tunku Ismail

Tunku Farik, LL.B(Bristol), LL.M (Cambridge) is a Barrister of Gray's Inn. He is an advocate and solicitor of both the Malayan and Singapore Bar, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has been specialising in Insurance/Reinsurance and Takaful/Retakaful Law both in advisory and litigation/arbitration for over 36 years.
He was the Chair of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) Insurance Committee in 2016-2017, and previously a vice-chair from 2007-2011 and 2014-2016. He was the Jurisdictional Council Member for Malaysia at the IPBA from 2018-2023. He has also spoken at the International Insurance Fraud Conference and World Takaful Conference in Kuala Lumpur in 2010 and 2013 respectively, the 3rd Malaysia Insurance Summit 2013, the Asian Captive Conference 2017, as well as at IPBA, Lexis Nexis, Bank Negara and NICS Seminars. He is listed in Who's Who Legal Insurance & Reinsurance.
He has appeared in many landmark insurance cases in both the Court Appeal and Federal Court of Malaysia. He has been admitted ad hoc to the Sarawak Bar to argue a complicated insurance case and involved in an international arbitration involving a dispute with a foreign reinsurer. He is currently the Malaysian Convener of ARIAS Asia [ARIAS stands for AIDA (Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances) Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitration Association] and a Panel Arbitrator for ARIAS Asia. He was recently lead counsel in a large Competition dispute before the Competition Appeal Tribunal who ruled in favour of the insurers that he was representing. He is currently the Vice-President of the Gray's Inn Alumni, Malaysia. He was elected to the Malaysian Bar Council for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 terms and is the current Chair of the Professional Indemnity and Arbitration committees of the Bar. He is also recognized as a Notable Practitioner in Asialaw 2023 Lawyers Ratings.


Mr. Balakumar Balasundram

Balakumar Balasundram graduated from University of Keele with Bachelors of Social Science in Law and Economics in 1988. He thereafter obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice in 1989. He commenced pupillage with Messrs. Choong Yik Son & Robiha for 3 months and completed the remaining period with Messrs. Azim, Ong & Krishnan. He was called to the Malaysian Bar in September 1990. Balakumar's area of practice encompasses but is not limited to advisory and litigation relating to both life and general insurance, reinsurance and Takaful Law. He is an avid member of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA), member of the Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) and lifetime member of the Medico-Legal Society of Malaysia.


Mr. T. Tharumarajah

He was called to the Malaysian Bar in January 1993. He chambered with Messrs Gill & Tang and worked as a legal assistant in Messrs Mutalib Baharuddin and in Messrs P G Lim & Co prior to joining this firm. Mr. Wong Wai Leong (Steven)

Steven Wong read law at University of Glamorgan, Wales and graduated with 2nd Class honours in 1997. Thereafter, he completed the Bar Vocational Course at Inns of Court School of Law (ICSL), London and was called to the English Bar as a Barrister of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn in 2000. He was also awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Law (Legal Skills) by City University, London.
Prior to commencing his legal practice, Steven had a short stint with MUI Continental Insurance Berhad as a Claims Executive and handles all classes of general insurance claims. Thereafter, he commenced pupillage under the guidance of Y.M. Tunku Farik Ismail. He was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2001 and was retained as an associate in our firm's Non-Motor Insurance Department. In 2005, he ceased legal practice and joined a public listed company as a legal manager. Subsequently, he was invited to join an established Australian recovery company and later headed their Insurance Recovery operation in Malaysia where the company provides subrogation recovery services to a vast majority of the insurance and takaful companies in Malaysia.
He rejoined our firm in 2006 as an associate and was appointed as a Senior associate in 2008 specialising in Insurance and Takaful, Reinsurance and Re-Takaful Litigation. He was made a partner of the firm in 2010. His insurance practice includes vetting insurance/takaful products and advising insurers and takaful operators on insurance/takaful products, acting as both defence and coverage counsel for various classes of insurance risk claim which include but not limited to Comprehensive General Liability, Property, Professional Indemnity, Errors and Omissions and Personal Accident. His area of legal practice also extends to debt recovery, subrogation recovery and some corporate advisory work. He is currently into his second term as one of the Vice Chair of the Insurance Committee for the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA).


Ms. Chithra Jeganathan

Chithra read law at University of London (External) and graduated in LL.B (Honours) in 1994. She then obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice in 1996 and commenced her pupillage in the Chambers of Dato' V.P. Nathan at Messrs V.P. Nathan & Partners. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of High Court of Malaya on 6th March 1997 and then commenced practice with Messrs V.P. Nathan & Partners until February 2005 and later joined Messrs Sabarudin, Othman & Ho. In February 2006 she joined Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong as an Associate and was appointed as a Senior Associate on 1st January 2009 and is currently doing Insurance and Takaful Litigation.


Ms. Tan Sixin
PartnerSixin graduated from the University of the West of England, Bristol. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 29.11.2007 upon completion of her pupillage with our Mr Edmund Liew. She was made a Partner on 1.1.2013 and focuses her dispute resolution work on general and life insurance and takaful (including reinsurance and re-takaful). She is also a Panel Mediator with the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), an Accredited Mediator of the Malaysian International Mediation Centre (MIMC), a graduate member of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) and a member of LAWASIA and the International Bar Association (IBA).She is passionate about her practice and regularly speaks at events specially designed for insurance companies and law students, as well as judges mooting competitions at both national and international levels. Mr. Teh Kiang Boon

Mr. Amos Siew Yih Jhien

Ms. Leena Manaharan
